About Us


With over 40 years of combined experience in people and leadership development, we believe that the most powerful way to improve performance is through tailored coaching. We adapt our coaching style to meet your unique needs.


Non-directive coaching is most effective in bringing about performance improvement. This, combined with a directive style where appropriate, sharing best practice tools and techniques, results in maximum growth and change. It is a powerful way for you and your team to develop in a bespoke and tailored way.

Who Are We

Janette Poole

Janette has witnessed the difference her coaching has made to individuals and their businesses. As an accredited teacher for the University of Hull Business School, Janette has delivered the first year of an undergraduate Management Development course, and an MSc in Public Management in collaboration with the University of Birmingham.
With over 20 years of people, organisational and management development experience, Janette brings a wide range of tools and techniques to support her clients in their development. Janette has coached people in various types and size of organisation, in the public and private sector, and at all levels up to Board Director. She has led two training teams, and reporting at Director level, has been part of a senior management team of a FTSE 100 company. She brings this experience to her performance and leadership development coaching.
Janette has a post-graduate level certificate in Performance Development Coaching and is a member of the Association for Coaching; an MSc in Management; associate member of the CIPD and is DiSC accredited. As a trained NLP practitioner, Janette uses NLP techniques in her coaching where appropriate.

Lesley Young

Lesley is an organisational development and learning specialist with over 25 years' experience of working in professional training and development in the public, not for profit and voluntary sectors. She has held senior roles in the NHS, Higher Education, National Relate, and Action for Children. She has directed her own organisational consultancy business since 2010, and is an accredited and experienced coach.
Lesley specialises in helping individuals, organisations and teams to cope with the challenges they face in bringing about sustainable change.
Lesley has an MA in Adult Education and qualifications in Coaching, Organisational Consulting and Creative and Therapeutic Writing. Her coaching approach is open and intuitive and she is passionate about making a difference. In her work she uses a range of tools and techniques including mindfulness, appreciative inquiry, poetry and the creative arts. She is a member of the Association for Coaching and also the European Mentoring and Coaching Council.

Performance Development Coaching

Our approach is client centred and is based on trust and integrity. We believe that we have within us the ability to be the best version of ourselves; we are like acorns rather than seeds that rely on solely on external input.
Our role is to help you to access what is within you, and to create the right conditions to allow you to develop into the person that you want to be. If you wish to develop specific skills such as time management or behavioural traits and attributes such as confidence, we provide the tools and techniques to support your growth and improve overall performance at any level in your organisation.

Leadership Development Coaching

If you are an experienced leader we give you space to reflect and challenge you to think in a different way by asking incisive questions that help you to maximise your effectiveness as a leader or to deal with specific challenges.
For less experienced leaders, we use a more directive style, sharing best practice theories and models from our extensive experience of management development to help you to gain confidence in your leadership approach.
Ultimately, we tailor our approach to you as an individual within the specific needs of the business environment. Coaching is a bespoke, time effective way to develop as a leader. We help you to understand the areas you need to develop and provide you with the best tools to achieve your leadership potential. This will benefit you, your team and the business as a whole.
